Role and Opportunity Details (Volunteers must be 18+ to apply)

Volunteer Reception & Meet-and-Greet Opportunity.

Family Welfare is a long established charity providing free, independent, and confidential counselling, advocacy, and community development services to people across the Wigan Borough.  Our services are available to adults, young people, and children aged 5 and over.

Our counsellors and advocates work Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and we are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to support our reception and meet and greet service.

As a volunteer, you will:

• Welcome clients when they arrive for their appointments.
• Offer refreshments and help create a warm, welcoming environment.
• Provide reassurance and support while clients are waiting.
• Help ensure everyone has a positive experience when visiting our service.

No previous experience is required just a caring, approachable manner and good communication skills. If you would like to take on additional responsibilities over time, we are happy to provide further opportunities and training to support your development.

Date(s) / Time(s) Required

We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week.

Volunteer shifts can be arranged between Monday and Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and we will work with you to agree a regular day and time that suits both you and the organisation wherever possible.
