Lifters & Shifters

Our charity shops are run by a team of committed volunteers who give their time and skills to raise vital funds for the hospice.

We’re looking for Lifters & Shifters who are approachable and friendly, with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.  This role is only open to applicants over the age of 18.

In return, you’ll be offered support and training to do the job, as well as the opportunity to be part of a brilliant team who really make a difference.

A typical day will involve moving donations upstairs into the sorting area, assisting customers with their purchases, as well as ensuring the shop is well presented and welcoming to customers to help to bring in as much income as possible to support the hospice.  Applicants will be required to carry heavy bags and boxes up a flight of stairs, please state if you are able to do this as we also have vacancies to fill as general shop volunteers too – see VO10595.

We are looking for a number of volunteers who can commit to a minimum of a half day shift per week to allow us to extend our opening hours.

 

Specific Skills Required

Ability to lift and carry heavy items upstairs.
