Benefits of volunteering with this organisation
As a Champion, you’ll help us make sure the voices of local people, especially those often overlooked, are heard and have a real influence on our understanding of Wigan Borough. All it takes is being someone who listens and helps bring people together to drive positive change in the community.
In Wigan, we’re proud of our communities, the sense of local pride and our commitments to Progress with Unity. If you live or work here, you’ll know that our towns and neighbourhoods are full of people who care deeply and advocate for the place they live.
That’s why we’re working in new ways to make sure your voices are heard in the decisions that affect you – changing our understanding of the support communities need and strengthening communities to lead the way.
In the past, research has been previously done to communities, but we’re moving towards a more inclusive approach to research co-produced with communities – one that is shaped by the experiences of local people and led by communities themselves.
