Role and Opportunity Details (to apply for this role you must be 18+)

The Haigh Woodland Railway is owned and managed by Wigan Borough Council which has invested in the attraction and operates it as a community asset.  Volunteers play a part in operating the railway at all levels.

The project to rebuild the railway is being managed in a staged manner and will see volunteers undertake various tasks from ground works, track laying and ultimately operating the railway to the public when the time comes.

Training is given where needed.

 

Specific Skills Required

Enjoy working in a team environment.
A good sense of humour!
Reasonable physical fitness and an enquiring mind!
An interest in working outdoors within the historic woodland of Haigh.
Engaging personality.
