Volunteer Opportunity:   eBay Specialist with Entrepreneurial Flair

About Us

ManLeigh has been running a successful online eBay charity shop for over two years, primarily selling men’s items—from sporting goods to gaming consoles.  Our work not only supports the charity financially but also offers our service users valuable work experience, structure, and a route back into employment.

We’ve grown thanks to the generous support of the public and Wigan Council’s recycling department, and now we’re ready to take our eBay operation to the next level.

The Role

We’re seeking a volunteer with strong eBay experience and entrepreneurial spirit to help us grow and innovate.  Whether you’ve already had success running your own online business or you’re looking for a rewarding new challenge, we offer you the freedom to shape and run this project with real autonomy.

What You’ll Do

  • Source Inventory:  Identify high-potential items for resale.  This may include researching trends, leveraging donations, contacting suppliers, or exploring local sales and auctions.
  • Create Listings:  Write accurate, engaging descriptions and upload high-quality product images to attract buyers.
  • Manage Inventory:  Keep organised records of stock, sales, and storage.
  • Customer Service:  Handle buyer queries and resolve issues professionally to maintain excellent feedback.
  • Drive Sales:  Use insights, data, and tools (like eBay Promoted Listings) to boost visibility and grow revenue.
  • Contribute to Strategy:  Help shape the direction of our online shop, identifying new opportunities for growth and improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • eBay Expertise:  Strong hands-on experience with selling on eBay, including listing, order processing, and customer communication.
  • Sourcing Know-How:  A knack for finding in-demand, profitable stock.
  • Analytical Thinking:  Able to research markets, track trends, and make data-informed decisions.
  • Strong Communication:  Clear, confident writing and speaking skills for engaging with customers and partners.
  • Organised & Proactive:  Great time management and a self-starting attitude.
  • Team Spirit:  A positive, can-do approach to helping others and growing the project.
