Role and Opportunity Details (to apply for this role you must be 18+)

ManLiegh has just recently opened a new hub here in Leigh (Lord Street) and continues to expand its outreach using local library here in Leigh and throughout the borough at a breathtaking pace so we are looking for volunteers.

Now in the past we have plenty of ladies apply but this time we would really appreciate hearing from you men to help out in the hub or in our out reach at Leigh Library, Westleigh Family Startwell Centre (Boxercise), Atherleigh Park Hospital.

We are looking for people with experience in mental health and its causes, such as addiction, health, abuse, debt, relationship/marriage, social isolation, etc., who offer peer-to-peer support and help.

You will need to be friendly, outgoing, and a listener with bags of empathy and spare a minimum of 3 to 4 hrs a week.

It’s a very rewarding roll even challenging and it will change your life with out a doubt.

ManLeigh will also include you in its ongoing expanding training programme which will be free.

You will need to have an enhanced DBS but we can arrange for you to apply for this.

 

Specific Skills Required

Lived experience or knowledge of mental health issues, addiction, abuse, isolation, or relationship breakdowns, unemployment, retired, bereavement — we’d love to hear from you.
