Are you a parent/ carer interested in supporting parents in your local community?

We are looking for parents/carers to help support our parenting offer to support to more parents in local communities.
Parenting can be challenging, and everyone needs a little help at times. Providing parents with support and guidance can build their knowledge and confidence. This has a positive impact on the parents’ own wellbeing and on the wellbeing of the whole family.

If you’re friendly, approachable, can work as part of a team, offer a supportive manner, can be non-judgemental and understand the importance of confidentiality then this role will suit you.

Within this role you will:

  • Support with delivery of parenting programmes to help improve the parent child relationship.
  • Promote the local parenting offer to parent’s which are available across Wigan and Leigh borough.


Specific Skills Required

  • All volunteers will need to provide references to show they’re suitable to work with young people and will need to undergo DBS checks.  You don’t need any formal qualifications to volunteer, but you should be prepared to take part in training.
  • Full training will be provided, ongoing support and supervision.
