Volunteer Puppy Socialisers

At Dogs for Good, we believe dogs transform lives.  We teach dogs to enable disabled people, autistic children, and people with dementia to lead happier, healthier, and more independent lives.

Our volunteer puppy socialisers are vital to what we do.  They provide loving and nurturing homes for our dogs throughout their puppyhood and adolescence.  Supported by our dedicated puppy team, the strong
foundations of love and learning they provide enable our dogs to go on to transform people’s lives.

Socialisers range from families with young children, to retirees, to canine studies students!   It’s the perfect role for a dog lover who wants to meet new people, join a supportive community, and give back.

Specific Skills Required

We need our socialisers to:

  • Provide a safe and secure garden with a minimum five foot fence.
  • Dedicate time every day to assist a puppy with their learning.
  • Attend monthly puppy classes run by one of our puppy co-ordinators.
  • Gradually introduce the puppy to spending time alone, to a maximum of no more than four hours in one day.
