Are you a parent carer in Wigan Borough, passionate about positively impacting the lives of families like yours?  We invite you to become a valued volunteer in our dynamic and dedicated Team at Wigan Parent Carer Forum!

About Wigan Parent Carer Forum: Wigan Parent Carer Forum is a vibrant community of parent carers coming together to support, empower, and advocate for families with children with additional needs or disabilities.  Our forum provides a platform for open discussions, resource sharing, and collaborative efforts to enhance our children’s and parent carers’ well-being.

Volunteer for Our Parent Carer Team:  We are expanding our team and are seeking passionate parent carers eager to volunteer their skills, experiences, and time to make a difference.  As a volunteer member of our Parent Carer Team, you will play a crucial role in fostering communication, building connections, and ensuring the voices of parent carers are heard in local decision-making processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with the parent carer community in Wigan.
  • Representing the forum at local meetings and events.
  • Collaborating with local authorities and service providers.
  • Advocating for positive changes in policies and services.
  • Contributing ideas for forums, workshops, and support sessions.

What we’re looking for:

  • Volunteer parent carers residing in Wigan.
  • Passion for supporting families with children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to collaborate and engage with diverse perspectives.
  • Commitment to attending regular team meetings and events.
