These forums provide a collective voice for families, offering a platform to share experiences, concerns, and insights related to the challenges of caring for children with additional needs.
At the heart of Parent Carer Forums is a commitment to empowering families and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making that impacts their lives. Forums collaborate with local authorities, health services, and other stakeholders to influence policies, services, and provisions for children and young people with SEND.

Wigan Parent Carer Forum is seeking a Communications Trustee to drive our messaging, storytelling, and outreach efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies.

- Experience in communications, PR, or marketing.

As a volunteer trustee at Wigan Parent Carer Forum, your role involves influencing positive changes both locally within Wigan and regionally and nationally as part of the broader NNPCF (National Network of Parent Carer Forums). Your contributions directly impact policies at different levels, making a meaningful difference in the community. Additionally, access to the CIC Wellbeing Employment Employee Assistance Programme ensures your wellbeing, and collaborating with fellow parent carers fosters a strong sense of community.
