Role and Opportunity Details (to apply for this role you must be 18+)

The Better-Connected Communities Fund – enables local groups, individuals, and organisations to apply for funding up to the value of £2,000 for projects and ideas which benefit our neighbourhoods.

We are looking for tenants to join our virtual panel.  The panel will be responsible for assessing all applications to the fund that have passed the eligibility criteria.

The panel will decide if the project will be fully/partial funded or declined.

The members will assess the applications individually and report back their recommendations.

Full training will be provided on the Better-Connected Community Fund and the full criteria each project must meet to be considered.

Specific Skills Required

We are looking for applicants who are Wigan Council tenants and engaged in local community initiatives and are open to innovative ideas.

Applicants need to be fair-minded and judge each application on merit.

Have the ability to plan ahead and to see the long-term implications of decisions made.

We want projects to involve and have the local people at the heart of everything they do, and who better to decide if a project meets that criteria and understand a community than the people who live there!

Are you a council tenant and care passionately about your local community, then we want to hear from you!!!
