Nature conservation at Bickershaw Country Park

Bickershaw Country Park gets its name from the former coal mine which occupied the site.  Since the closure of the mine, nature has re-colonised, and created wonderful areas for plants and animals.  We need people to help us maintain the ideal environment for local wildlife.

This is a varied role which involves being outdoors in all weathers!

  • Spring/Summer jobs include wildlife surveying and making habitat improvements.
  • Autumn/Winter jobs include – tree planting and vegetation removal.  Old clothing and sturdy boots required.

Specific Skills Required

Training is given for practical tasks but the ability to work outdoors in all weathers is a must.
