Nature conservation at Bickershaw Country Park
Bickershaw Country Park gets its name from the former coal mine which occupied the site. Since the closure of the mine, nature has re-colonised, and created wonderful areas for plants and animals. We need people to help us maintain the ideal environment for local wildlife.
This is a varied role which involves being outdoors in all weathers!
- Spring/Summer jobs include wildlife surveying and making habitat improvements.
- Autumn/Winter jobs include – tree planting and vegetation removal. Old clothing and sturdy boots required.
Specific Skills Required
Training is given for practical tasks but the ability to work outdoors in all weathers is a must.
