Role and Opportunity Details 

We are looking for local people in Wigan and Leigh with parenting experience to give the gift of time to a local family for just a couple of hours each week in the family’s own home.

Volunteers, (who are trained) offer a mix of emotional and practical support to families who need a little bit of help. It might be a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or a practical pair of hands.

 

Specific Skills Required

Parenting experience or care-giving experience and a non-judgemental attitude.

All of our volunteers are given training before being matched to their first family.

All volunteers receive ongoing support and supervision on their Home-Start journey.
