Role and Opportunity Details 

We Are With You Wigan & Leigh provides support to both adults and young people who are affected by substance misuse.  All our services are free and confidential and our team are non-judgemental, knowledgeable and experienced.

We understand the impact drugs and alcohol have on individuals, families and communities. We offer assessments and recovery planning, one to one and group support, community based activities, harm reduction and blood borne virus testing, peer naloxone training, specialist criminal justice interventions, education, training and employment opportunities and much more.

 

Specific Skills Required

Applicants must be:-

• Enthusiastic and motivated
• Have good communication skills and treat others with care and respect
• Have some understanding of the issues affecting those who use substances and their families
• Be willing to undertake training and learn more about all aspects of substance misuse work.

We offer a comprehensive training package for all volunteers on their induction, plus training opportunities throughout the placement in a variety of topics, as well as regular one to one and peer supervision to support and develop you within your role.

Our service is open Monday to Friday with some group work activities at evenings and weekends.  All volunteering opportunities are flexible to support you.
