Role and Opportunity Details

Adult supervisors are required to support an amazing group of local Junior Volunteers aged 7-16 years to have fun and to volunteer in our community.  Our aim is to recruit, develop and encourage community minded young people to become community minded adults of the future.

Our activities include crafting, gardening, fundraising, litter picking and having fun through games, sports and new experiences.  Our activities are contributing towards Duke of Edinburgh Awards being undertaken by some of our young teenagers.

This is a regular, ongoing role as part of a small team of supervisors currently supporting around 25 Junior Volunteers.

You need to be able to work as part of a team but also be able to use your initiative.

Experience of working with children is helpful but not essential. You need to be reliable, flexible and keen to help our youngsters flourish.

Training opportunities will be available.

We meet every Thursday 5.45pm-7.45pm (children attend 6pm-7.30pm) at St John’s Church Hall, Atherton Road, Hindley Green.  We also provide some weekend and school holiday indoor and outdoor sessions.

Own transport would be beneficial.

You will be required to undertake enhanced DBS clearance.
