Wigan Children Contact Centre
Role and Opportunity Details (under 18’s can apply)
We are a contact centre that enables children to see a parent they no longer live with in a safe environment, we open fortnightly on a Saturday from 10.30 until 1.30 approximately.
We are looking for people to help staff the centre where they could meet clients and support them.
There are opportunities to meet children and their parents and to help them build up relationships with a parent they may not have seen for a while.
We are there in a supportive role and not in a supervisory capacity.
All volunteers would need a DBS certificate.
Specific Skills Required
No specific skills but would need to be approachable, friendly and non judgemental.
We are there to support all families and part of our remit is that we are able to be completely impartial and accept the strict confidentiality of each situation.
