Role and Opportunity Details

Transport for Sick Children is a team of dedicated volunteer drivers who give up their time and use their own cars to make a difference to the lives of sick and needy children in Greater Manchester.

Our volunteers use their free time to help families who have sick children get to crucial health and hospital appointments. Our volunteer drivers take the accompanied child, wait until treatment is finished and then take them home. The children we work with often have a complex range of illness and our volunteers provide a caring service getting them to appointments.

The unique service provided by our volunteers completely reduces the parent/carer anxieties and enables them to focus directly on their child’s health needs.  All children are referred to us by professional health workers.

If you have a car and can spare some time each week we would love to have you join our friendly team of volunteers. Fuel costs are reimbursed.

A DBS check is required to ensure the safety of the children the cost of which would be covered by the Charity.
